26 Nov Guillermo del Toro Has 17 Unproduced Scripts, Including “Justice League Dark”
Guillermo del Toro has a fascination with putting out some unique films. For example, The Shape Of Water was based around a strange romantic relationship between a fish creature being studied, and a woman that discovers him. Pan’s Labyrinth, Blade 2, and Crimson Peak are all great examples of strange del Toro movies that were still amazing. He has a very delicate way of making his vivid visions come to life, and many DC Comics fans were hoping that he would be involved with a big screen adaptation of Justice League Dark. In a string of new tweets, Del Toro has revealed that he has not only written Justice League Dark, but he has a stack of other scripts he wants to bring to life as well.
“SCREENPLAYS I have developed, fully written or co-written that have gone unproduced (so far),” began del Toro before going on to name several films. “THE WITCHES, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS, FANTASTIC VOYAGE, THE COUNT OF MONTECRISTO, MEPHISTO’S BRIDGE, PACIFIC RIM 2 (very different).” del Toro continued on to name several other movies, brining his total count to 17. The gifted director also name-dropped a Hulk show.
“The thing is- each script takes about a year, so- more than a decade of work lost,” he explained. “To be clear these screenplays are WRITTEN, done. Each of them took months or years of my life. Meetings, synopsis, beat sheets and were all written, features- 90-130 pages each.” Hopefully, someone with enough sense will read his tweets and reach out to him. I bet, someone already has.
