(New Exclusive Written Interview) Atlanta Artist Dope DJ Talks Music And New Project
1. How long have you been doing music?
I’ve been doing music on & off for about 3 years now, dropping projects since 2015 but i feel like I’ve never stayed consistent enough to my standers so in 2018 I plan on stepping that up
2. Does creating music come to you naturally or is it something you have to seat down and do?
Creating music comes naturally to me but I like to take my time with it, I don’t like saying just anything on a track I feel like I owe that not only to myself but he produced and the audience so I like to sit down and write out my thoughts.
3. Breakdown your style and sound, plus your process in creating a record?
My style is just Dope, I’m just a Dope dude & artist, I like to motivate & inspire the people who listen to me. I also want them to have a good time cause that’s what music is about, I am from Atlanta so my sound & creating music comes from the beat, if I get a hard beat the song pretty much writes itself long as the beat good I can catch the right vibe & make a banger.
4. How did you come up with the name “Dope D and what does it mean to you?
My name “Dope DJ” just came from being a Dope guy coming up, I always stayed fresh, had the pretty girls but was lowkey so people didn’t know much about me unless they talked to me but even if they didn’t they could tell that it was something about me, but what it means to me is just be Dope in everything you do, be positive, be cool just be yourself cause being yourself is Dope.
5. Lets talk about your new track “100.000.” What is the concept behind this record?
My song 100,000 actually came from a conversation me and my home boy Jay was having about some for and he was like “damn my dick must be on 100,000” and later on down the road @Supremecreme made the beat and that idea just came to mind & I just ran with it and made a banger
6. What do you feel this track brings different to the marketplace?
100,000 just brings good vibes to the world, like whatever you do it’ll be on 100,000 meaning it’s going up, it’s something to see, it’s fly, even if you only got $100 in yo pocket you gon feel like you worth 100,000 or more when this song come on, it’s just about good vibes
7. Where do you see your brand and career in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years I’m praying I’m just still alive and on a bigger level in my music career I’m 22 now so I’ll be 27 in 5 years I’ll still be young as hell so sky is the limit long as I stay consistent and continue to make good music, have my family living well, me and my girl somewhere livin well lowkey as hell doing us, touring, things like that.
