28 Nov Gilbert Arenas’ Sex Tape Accuser Settles Out Of Court: Report
Gilbert Arenas wasn’t pleased when Janelle Reeves accused him of blackmailing her with a sex tape. Using a sex scandal to target an athlete is a story we’ve heard time and time again. The retired NBA star filed a defamation lawsuit after Reeves tried to drag his name through the mud, and according to TMZ, he has just settled out of court. Arenas was hit with a restraining order back at the beginning of the Summer, with Reeves claiming that he was threatening to release a sexually explicit recording to her young son. Arenas struck back with a $10 million defamation lawsuit, insisting that he lost his job at Yahoo! Sports due to Reeves’ lies.

The case against Arenas was dismissed in court earlier in November. The layers of Reeves’ lies were thin, and a judge saw through the veil with ease. It’s unfortunate that Arenas lost his job due to the fictional circumstance. Speaking with TMZ, Arenas’ lawyer, David Bass, claims that Reeves buckled and admitted to her lies. “[Reeves] resolved the dispute by paying Mr. Arenas an undisclosed amount for his damages and confirming that the restraining order action of June 2018 was meritless, filed with fabricated documents and, therefore, filed without cause,” stated Bass. The settlement amount is undisclosed.
