09 Jan Luke Wilson Joins The Cast Of DC’s “Stargirl”
With superhero movies dominating both the box-office and your television screens, the ever-expanding industry keeps scooping up new talent for the roster. Several of the world’s best actors have joined comic book films and shows, such as Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Tommy Lee Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Samuel L Jackson, Robert Downey Jr., Benicio Del Toro, Ben Kingsley, Cate Blanchett, Forest Whitaker, Mahershala Ali, and many others. Luke Wilson will be joining that list, as Deadline reports that he has just been cast in DC’s Stargirl.
Wilson will be featured in the DC Universe series as Pat Dugan. Dugan originally suited up as Stripesy, a patriotic sidekick that defeated enemies in the 40’s. His history was updated decades later, and Dugan became a genius mechanic who builds S.T.R.I.P.E., a massive robot suit that can be worn as armor. Dugan, as S.T.R.I.P.E., helps Star Girl save the world. Wilson will star alongside Brec Bassinger, who will fill the titular role. Bassinger is best known for her work on Nickelodeon’s Bella & the Bulldogs. Lou Ferrigno Jr., Brian Stapf, Henry Thomas, and Anjelika Washington are also set to join the series. Storied comic book creator and writer Geoff Johns created Stargirl in the 90’s and is also helming the show.
