17 Feb Snapchat boss looking to buy Big Machine?
Snapchat boss Evan Spiegel is allegedly interested in buying Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine label, according to New York Post sources.
The New York Post reports that the price for the Nashville-based label is $350 million, up $150 million from the figure quoted by the publication at an earlier date.
Spiegel has been making an effort to enter the music business, having partnered with Warner Music to offer music videos on its Discover platform.
There are suggestions elsewhere on the web that Apple has also been considering the purchase of the label.
Although the company has denied that rumour, sources close to the New York Post suggest that Apple and Snapchat could be in talks to make a joint offer for the label.
